The Faculty of Telecommunications is the leading educational institution in the field of communication technologies in Bulgaria. It offers advanced Bachelor and Master Degrees training in “Telecommunications”.

Telecommunications is one of the most modern and dynamic areas of engineering and technology nowadays. Area, where a huge investment is allocated and many leading companies in the world are working, with the lowest unemployment and a constant need for qualified specialists.

What are the entry requirements?

Application at the TU – Sofia is open to foreign students who hold a Secondary School Diploma, which allows them access to higher education institutions in the respective countries where they have completed their secondary education.

Required Documents:
1. Application form, containing some brief biographical data and the label of the applicant’s desired specialty.
2. A copy of ID card.
3. A copy of the Secondary School Diploma and its Supplement(s).
4. A document, issued by competent authorities, which testifies to the right of the applicant to further his/her education at university level in the country where they have completed their secondary school education.
5. A Medical Certificate of Health issued within a month prior to the application date and verified by the competent authorities in the country from which the applicant submits his/her file.
6. Four recent passport-size photographs.

What do you study?

Bachelors graduated from our Faculty have fundamental knowledge in the field of telecommunications and information technologies. They are proficient in computer technology and are ready to meet the challenges and requirements of the modern information society.
Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications is related to the acquisition of knowledge and skills to work, design, manufacture, maintain, operate, engineer and technically support of modern communication components, assemblies, devices, systems and networks.

Opportunities for student mobility

In 2014 the Erasmus Program was transformed into Erasmus+ Program, combining the seven existing by the end of 2013 programs: The Lifelong Learning Program (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Komenski, Grundtvig, Educational visits), The Youth in Action Programme, The Erasmus Mundus Program, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and Programs for cooperation with industrialized countries in the field of higher education.

Erasmus+ is a leading program for education, study and internship in EU. The program comprising mobility of students, academic and administrative staff, regulating the European partnership among universities and other key partners from public and private sectors. The program encourages the establishment of a united European educational space for common research activities, innovations, economic growth, labor market and intercultural dialog.

Erasmus+ finances students’ mobility for study and/or internship in a foreign university, as well as activities connected with transnational mobility of academic and administrative staff and various projects.

My realization

Some of the areas for professional realization of the BSc and MSc graduates are in the fields of: systems for satellite and cable radio and TV programs distribution; fixed and mobile communication systems and networks; information technology in telecommunications; reliability and security in communications; audio and video technologies; laser and fiber optics communication systems; radar and radio navigation equipment and systems; automated design, manufacturing, control and diagnostic systems for radio control; control systems and management systems for process control; circuits and systems; design of printed circuit boards; technical resources for the development of automated systems technology in communications and many, many more.
